Cooling Method Applied in New Energy Automobile

In recent years, new energy vehicles have been developed vigorously, but how to dissipate its heat has always been one of the research focuses of new energy vehicles' companies.
There are basicly four cooling methods for the thermal management of lithium battery pack system for vehicles that include New Energy Heat Sinks: natural cooling, air cooling, liquid cooling and direct cooling.
Among them, natural cooling is a passive heat management mode, while air cooling, liquid cooling and direct current are active. The important difference between these three is the difference of heat exchange medium. There is no additional device for heat exchange in natural cooling.
At present, most new energy vehicles apply Water Cooling Heatsinks, which has the following advantages:

1. The cooling rate is fast, its temperature uniformity is good, and the fluid (temperature and flow) control is simple. The liquid cooling technology takes away the heat generated by the battery through liquid convection heat transfer, and reduces the battery temperature.

2. The specific heat capacity of water is three times higher than that of air. The antifreeze of ordinary vehicles, including new energy vehicles, is an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol. At the same temperature, the specific heat capacity of water is slightly lower than that of pure water, but still much higher than that of air.

Suprel Cool can make Heatsinks for liquid cooling system, and we are confident to participate and make more aluminum radiators and Heat Sink Types parts to contribute more for current Auto Heat Sinks industry.
